Florentin Petre put Romania in front on six minutes and Nicolae Goian doubled the advantage 11 minutes later.

The result leaves France fourth in Group 7, while Romania sit level on points in fifth spot.

After suffering opening defeats to Romania and Serbia, the Faroe Islands were keen to put on a good performance at Torsvollor Stadium.
And it was the home side who took the lead when substitute Bogi Lokin hit the back of the net on 46 minutes.
However, the advantage did not last long as two minutes later Martin Stranzl pulled Austria level.
The draw leaves the Faroe Islands bottom of the table, while Austria currently sit in second spot.
Meanwhile, table-topping Serbia eased to a 3-0 home victory over Lithuania , who had Arunas Klimavacius sent off, as Branislav Ivanovic (6), Milos Krasic (34) and Nikola Zigic (82) netted.
