Arsenal have revealed that further surgery on Tomas Rosicky's injured left knee went "as planned" after an operation in Germany.

The Czech Republic international, who hasn't featured for the Gunners since January, first had surgery on his knee in May and underwent another routine operation on Tuesday.

At the start of the 2008-09 season, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had hoped the 28-year-old would be back in action by September, however the pain returned in his knee and another operation became a necessity.

Arsenal released the following statement on their official website: "Tomas Rosicky yesterday underwent routine revision surgery in Germany.

"The operation went as planned and Tomas will now spend at least a few weeks convalescing in Germany.

"Thereafter he will follow a tailored rehabilitation progamme devised by our medical team."
