Northampton hope to have striker Adebayo Akinfenwa back in their line-up for the League Two encounter against Barnet on Friday night.

Akinfenwa - who saw a move to Swansea fall through on Monday - has missed the last two games with a shin injury but is back in training and poised to partner Steve Guinan in attack.

Midfielder Luke Guttridge has yet to feature this season due to a knee problem but he has started training and has been pencilled in for a reserve match early next week.

Wing-back Liam Davis remains sidelined as he recovers from a broken foot sustained in pre-season while utility-man John Curtis is out with a calf problem.

Striker Billy McKay is also absent as he is away on international duty with the Northern Ireland Under-21 side.
