Both goals came in a frenetic second half after neither team had carved out any clear-cut chances in a dull first period, with the Dragons unravelled by their visitors after failing to capitalise on their early possession.

Hereford made the breakthrough after 53 minutes after a mix-up between the midfield and defence left Theo Robinson bearing down on goal.

The big striker beat Anthony Williams before his shot was blocked on the line by Richard Hope, but the defender was left helpless as midfielder Kris Taylor knocked the rebound home.

The visitors sealed the points in the 74th minute when substitute Trevor Benjamin showed great control to lash home Clint Easton's cross from the left after the winger had been allowed to run clear down Wrexham's right flank.

Neil Roberts had a couple of half-chances for Wrexham in the first half as Matty Done caused the visitors problems with his pace, while Eifion Williams and Mark Jones saw late efforts saved by Hereford goalkeeper Wayne Brown.
