Dragons forward Michael Proctor twice cancelled out strikes by Chester pair Kevin Roberts and Paul Linwood in front of a crowd of 7,687 at the Racecourse Ground.

Roberts struck the game's opener for the visitors on 27 minutes with a superb 25-yard looping shot that gave Anthony Williams no chance.

And it could have been 2-0 as Paul Butler had a free header cleared off the line by Wes Baynes, but in the 37th minute Proctor burst through onto a Neil Roberts ball to fire home.

Linwood then nearly turned the ball into his own net, but made up for his error five minutes into added time of the first half with a bullet header.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between after the break, but a superb ball from Baynes to substitute Matty Done gave the winger space and his cross was perfectly met by Proctor to smash home the equaliser in the 75th minute.

The result means there is no change in the table, with Chester remaining in seventh spot and Wrexham continuing to prop up the Football League.

It's Ronaldo isn't it? ..."   view full comment
