Paul Ince's side will be officially promoted if Stockport lose to Mansfield on Wednesday as they edged ahead of Peterborough at the top of the League Two after securing their 27th league win of the season.

And they were ahead in just the third minute when Danny Swailes was left unattended by the visiting defence to volley home Dean Lewington's free-kick.

Jemal Johnson also capitalised on an abundance of space after 10 minutes to set up Wilbraham who fired MK Dons into a two-goal lead.

Wrexham though kept fighting and they pulled one back in the 57th minute when Neil Roberts brushed himself off to convert his own penalty after being fouled by Carl Regan.

But with 15 minutes remaining Lewington crossed for Sean O'Hanlon to head past Gavin Ward. And Wilbraham grabbed his fifth goal in his last five league games with the very last kick of the game after being set up by substitute John Miles.
