Shots boss hails Jaimez-Ruiz show

Aldershot chief Garry Waddock hailed goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz's "outstanding" display after his team drew 1-1 at Torquay.

Tim Sills' 83rd-minute goal cancelled out Marvin Morgan's 48th-minute opener from the penalty spot to end the Devon club's six-match losing streak, but the draw extended Aldershot's unbeaten run to seven matches.

Waddock said: "It was a point gained and obviously we have Mikhael to thank for that. He was outstanding.

"The performance from our point of view was nowhere near good enough. We expect to play better than that but credit to the players they got a point away from home.

"Torquay put us under a lot of pressure and Mikhael has made a number of good saves and we travel back with a point.

"They gave us a battering and we know the way Torquay play and they were on a (losing) run and so it was all hands to the pump for them - and especially the way they play. They put you under pressure.

"We go a goal up against the run of play, but last year we would have crumbled and tonight we stood up to it."
