Dillon: Shots were fortunate to win

Kevin Dillon admitted Aldershot were fortunate to get three points after two goals in the final ten minutes secured a 2-1 win over Northampton.

Dillon: We rode our luck
Dillon: We rode our luck

A controversial retaken penalty from Scott Donnelly and Marvin Morgan's last-minute effort turned around a game that looked to be heading the Cobblers' way following Luke Guttridge's first-half opener.

And Dillon was just happy to have earned the win, saying: "I thought Northampton were very unlucky and if I am honest I would have settled for a draw.

"They dominated the first half and we were fortunate to be only 1-0 down at the break. To our credit the players tried to change that but it looked as though it would be in vain.

"The only problem I have with the penalty was that the referee seemed to hesitate. If that would have happened anywhere outside the box it would have been a foul, no question.

"As for the retake, I think it was definite encroachment. I think the ref was absolutely right there and Marvin's goal was deserving of winning any game."
