Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari has revealed his excitement for the new season at Fratton Park after being linked with a move to Juventus.
Reports have claimed that Juventus are lining up a £12million bid for Muntari, who impressed in his debut campaign at Fratton Park last season.
The Ghanaian helped Pompey to win the FA Cup and the former Udinese midfielder also weighed in with seven goals for the club.
Though he has not commented on Juventus' rumoured interest, Muntari insists his focus is on the upcoming season with Portsmouth.
"I've had two weeks spent relaxing, but I'm back and playing," he told The News.
"I'm just looking forward to the new season. I'm going to try my best and work for the team. That's the important thing. Not for myself but for the team.
"My first season was good. I won the FA Cup and I hope to continue this way.
"I am going to keep playing better and better so I can help my team to achieve. That's why I am here and that's why I play football. I will be working hard.
"Definitely we will improve because we have Europe now so we have some more experienced players and the manager is good.
"Harry Redknapp knows what he is doing so there is no doubt about it.
"I want to get higher in the league and we will improve. We'll just see what happens."
Meanwhile Redknapp insists there has been no contact from Inter regarding Muntari.
"I don't know anything about it. It's a new one to me," Redknapp told Sky Sports News when asked about Inter's interest in Muntari.
"I don't want to sell him. He is one of my best players and is a terrific young talent.
"If someone from Italy has been in touch, they have certainly not been in touch with me."
Redknapp also remains confident that Kanu will agree a new one-year deal as Portsmouth prepare for next season in the UEFA Cup.
Kanu, who is discussions with Pompey director Peter Storrie, secured the club their place in Europe as he netted the only goal of the game in May's FA Cup final victory over Cardiff and Redknapp is desperate to keep hold of the forward.
When asked about Kanu's contract Redknapp said: "Peter is dealing with it. The big man (Kanu) has done great for me and I love him.
"It is up to him at the end of the day. Hopefully he will get it signed and I'm sure he will.
"He loves it here, he is happy here. I don't think anyone will look after him as well as we do."
