Prem pair chasing me - Podolski

Unsettled Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski has confirmed that both Manchester City and Tottenham are interested in signing him.

Podolski: Tipped to leave Bayern

The striker has struggled to break into the Bayern first team since Jurgen Klinsmann took charge last summer.

Podolski is not very happy with life in Munich and has made no secret of his desire to leave the Allianz Arena.

A host of clubs from across Europe are now ready to try and seal a deal for the 23-year-old.

Speaking to German magazine Bunte, Podolski has revealed that as well as interest from England, Italian giants Roma and a host of clubs within the Bundesliga want him.

"I need to play, I cannot continue to sit on the bench. I'm just not happy in Munich anymore," Podolski confirmed.

"I think it is time for me to leave Bayern so that I can do my job, which is playing football. I feel ready for an experience overseas and that of course includes Italy.

"I know Roma are interested, but so are several other sides. In Germany the likes of Hamburg, Cologne, Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund. In England I'm of interest to Manchester City and Tottenham."

City have the ability to out-bid most sides, but Podolski insisted money would not be the biggest factor in his decision.

"My choice will be purely a sporting one, so money won't make me change my mind. My only desire is to play football, preferably for a big club," he said.

"Why are Newcastle fans constantly commenting on stories involving Spurs, whats the issue? they seem to hate us yet i dont really know of yids who even care about Newcastle. and how can they say they are a bigger club than Spurs? What have they EVER won?!! Having a big ground dont make you a big club. Get a trophy cabinet with trophies in it then come back and have a go."

""Spurs are becoming one of the biggest now" How? By languishing just outside the relegation zone? And Spurs aren't even in the same league as us in terms of club size!"

mrspurs9 (Tottenham Hotspur fan)

"Spurs, not a big club?! Have a laugh! Spurs are becoming one of the biggest now and will be the team to beat next year! Newcastle, ppft. On Poldolski, if Jermain makes his way back to the lane and another midfielder next to Modric, Podolski will be one of the biggest goalscorers in the Premiership! Do the right thing Lukas and come to the Lane!!"

Spider_jonas (Newcastle United fan)

"my god, this is why i h8 spuds fans, they think they are such a gr8 big club with lots of money, but, if you look at it, where are yous, below us in the league, BELOW US!!!!! So how on earth do you count yourself as a big club when you are playing well but are still below us! :D"

gnth1960 (Tottenham Hotspur fan)

"Then what are you waiting for, Lukas? Pack your bags and come to Spurs! Unless you want a big bank account! Then Manchester City is for you. But for goodness sake, don't make the fatal mistake and go to Newcastle, because you will deterioate like Steven Carr who had to quit football at the early age of 32 because he couldn't get a club to sign him after all his years at the Barcodes. But on second thought, I doubt if Newcastle could afford to buy your boots. They are pretty desperate for cash right now. "

"This guy seems to have a mouth to match Harry Redknapps. What happened to when transfers were kept under wraps?"

"good player that likes to run at teams and take a shot on could be a good partner for Pavlychenko as he is more of a poacher"
