West Brom defender Paul Robinson has had his controversial red card against Manchester United rescinded by the Football Association.
The 30-year-old had faced a three-game ban after he was shown a straight red by referee Rob Styles following his first-half challenge on Park Ji-Sung in Tuesday's defeat to Manchester United at The Hawthorns.
The FA have, however, overturned the decision on appeal after viewing replays of the incident, freeing the left-back to play against Hull this weekend.
United were 1-0 up at the time of Robinson's dismissal, but went on to win the game 5-0, with three goals coming after the interval.

"i noticed 2 man u fans bitching while all the others had a generally good argument etc so to those to....shuttttt up and move off the page if you cant talk sence.
it is good news BUT cech is way better than robbo. cechs got cologne after him n all robba had last season was fulham? and i wanna make it clear fulham were in for him LAST season!
im sure all wba fans + other fans would enjoy seeing cech play way more! robbo's 30 and cechs what? 25?
i mean i love robbo's attitude and commitemt but cumon....ability wins the games?"

"I actually agree with ronleech. Its annoying how these bad decsions are affecting the way other fans see man u. Its like if it wasnt for the refs we'd win absoluting nothing which quite frankly is laughable. However, with regard to this decision, its arguable that recinding the card is pointless because it doesnt help the result it does mean no ban which is important but also I have to say that I'm sorry guys and this no disrespect to the baggies but if they had had 11 men or even 12 men man u were winning that game regardless from what I saw!!"

"ronleech (Liverpool fan)How many late dives in the area does Gerard get away with? You clot! He normally both gets the penalty awarded and escapes a card for the dive"

"Justice was done - however, at the end of the day, he should never have been sent off in the first place."

"Another case of Referee awarding the points to Man U. It has been happening through out the seasons. Hmmm... those ref standard should improve."

"It did look worse in real time from the first camera angle. Many 'bad' tackles are genuinely accidental and that of Robinson was not with any other intent than to get the ball - but had Park's leg been broken, would the card have even been reconsidered?"

"great!!should be no issue anymore & close case!we won the game fairly!"
SuperBIF (Manchester United fan)
"The tackle did look nasty and Styles did what 99 % of refs woul have done. And in my oponion he didn't make any other mistakes on the night.
Furthermore I am tired of everybody attacking refs when they make a mistake. It is often that I change my mind about an incident when I watch it from another angle or in slow, but a ref has to make a decision instantly -> of course they are going to make mistakes!!!! But you dont win a championship, lose a title or get relegated because of the ref. These things evens out over the course of the season. Tired of managers, players (including man united) and fans blaming the refs for their teams inabilities."

"it should have been a yellow not a red...."
