Premier League |
Highly-rated Fulham defender Brede Hangeland has agreed a new deal to extend his stay at the Premier League club, according to reports.
Hangeland has been continually linked with a move away from Craven Cottage after attracting interest from a number of top clubs.
The likes of Arsenal and Manchester City have been linked with moves for the giant Norwegian, who has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League since his arrival from FC Copenhagen in January 2008.
Fulham have been locked in talks with Hangeland for some time as they look to keep hold of their prize asset and it is understood a deal has been agreed in principle.
Only minor details need to be resolved before the deal is rubberstamped and Hangeland is expected to put pen-to-paper in the near future.
The news will provide a massive boost to Fulham as they look to build on their achievements of qualifying for Europe last season.

"He'd be great for Liverpool, but it's too logical a signing for Rafa to go for! I hope he stays at Fulham anyway. Mid-table sides are always being harvested of their youth players and good signings, it's bad for football because it keeps all the teams in the place they're supposed to be."

"ZeroZero (Tottenham Hotspur fan), you took the words straight out of my mouth. This is what I'd like to see more of in football. Good on him, he's a great player and professional. Well done Fulham."
