Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has admitted that he is currently going through the worst time of his career.

The Gunners star has been sidelined since January due to a hamstring injury and has already been ruled out of Euro 2008.

The Czech Republic international is set to have an operation on Tuesday and he does not expect to return to action for at least two more months.

"It is extremely difficult to estimate (how long I will be out)," Rosicky told Sport.

"We will know that after the surgical intervention. A lot will depend on what the doctors will see after they open the wound.

"It seems as though that blow separated the ligament from the bone, so we can expect minimally two months of further rehabilitation.

"Until the last moment I believed I would get together and wouldn't have to undergo surgery.

"I have been playing football at a high level for ten years and this is my first serious injury. This time I was simply enormously unlucky."

Rosicky has revealed the torment he felt at learning he would not be able to feature at Euro 2008, and also the frustration at not being fit to play a major role for Arsenal after a strong start to the season.

"It is a big pity for me," he explained. "I had big plans for this season.

"Mainly, I started the season very well. I have always been told that I do not score enough goals and I started to score more.

"I felt strong, not only for the Euros but also for Arsenal's games.

"Unfortunately, football can be like this sometimes. I have been experiencing the worst times of my career, that is clear."

"He seems to be unlucky with injuries and lost some of his confidence. While he was at Dortmound and when he played for the Chech Republic, he reminded me of Bobby Charlton - shooting from any distance as long as he had a clear sight of the goal! This is something that Arsenal do not possess and we are still waiting to see him perform like that! Hope his operation is successful otherwise he will be another has been! Shame! "

"i think things would have been alot closer with this guy fit for a season. Made a great start to the season. get well soon and hope to see you start at the beggining of the season and staying fit"
