Senderos delighted with Milan move

Philippe Senderos has thanked Arsenal for making him the player he is today but admitted his loan move to AC Milan is a "dream come true".

The Switzerland defender has joined Milan a season-long deal, ending a summer of speculation about his future.

He will join former Gunners team-mate Mathieu Flamini who moved to the San Siro earlier in the summer.

"I am really happy to play in a team like Milan," Senderos told the club's official website.

"For me, this is a dream come true. Everything has happened really fast, in a week.

"Everything here is incredible. The people are very easy going and they have made me feel like I'm at home."

Senderos, 23, paid tribute to Arsenal, the club he joined as a teenager in 2003, but believes even better times could be ahead.

"In the past I have achieved some success," he said. "To have become European Champion with the Under-17 national team and of course, at the age of 18 to have arrived to a big club as Arsenal.

"In London I have learned a lot. It has been a life school and (manager Arsene) Wenger has helped me.

"Today I can say I have reached a superior level by coming to this club. I want to give 100% and improve every day.

"This team wants to return to the Champions League and I will do everything I can to help."

Milan will play in the UEFA Cup this season having finished a disappointing fifth in Serie A last term.

"I lurve u Senderos. Hope the loan move will do u good at Milan, and u'll return as a better defender for us =)"

simobain47 (Arsenal fan)

"Senderos has been a good player for us, he's been exposed in big games but he's very young and will learn with experience. How many top teams have a 20 or 21 yr old centre back? Not many. He has the heart and desire that is needed, just lacks a little finesse. You'll be welcomed back Phil don't worry about that."

kkoone (Arsenal fan)

"jamieloughboro do your homework mate, Sivestre will be 4th choice behind Gallas, Toure and Djourou maybe even Alex Song. Silvestre is there mainly to cover for Clichy and play the odd game if Gallas and Toure go down"
