England Under-21 keeper Joe Hart says Fabio Capello will not be able to ignore the international claims of Gabriel Agbonlahor for much longer.
Agbonlahor scored the second goal in a man-of-the-match display as England swept aside Portugal 2-0 to reach the play-offs for next year's European Championship.
The Aston Villa striker's pace and work-rate troubled the Portuguese defence throughout and Hart believes his first cap is only a matter of time.
"We have Gabby up there doing as much as he possibly can and that makes it easier for everyone else," he said.
"The senior team could do with him. They have a handful of good strikers and Gabby is knocking on that door. He is a bullet."
Hart is happy being a part of the under-21 squad as he basks in the glory of their easy qualification for the play-offs as convincing Group Three winners.
The Manchester City stopper is on the fringes on the full England team himself after winning his only cap against Trinidad & Tobago in June.
"I'm not annoyed about not being with the seniors, it doesn't bother me," he said.
"As long as I'm in an England shirt I don't mind. It's nice to be playing and it is what I want to be doing.
"It feels good to win. We went to Wembley to do a job. Obviously it is even nicer to do it at Wembley but we won and topped the group."
Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba was delighted England marked their competitive debut at Wembley with a victory and is confident they will make the finals in Sweden next summer.
"We wanted to win the game and the boys did a good job - it was more of a team performance than about an individual," he said.
"The boys put in a great shift in and we deserved to win.
"I was looking forward to playing at Wembley - it was an accomplishment, I had wanted to do it my whole life and I really enjoyed it.
"The gaffer (Stuart Pearce) was just happy and said that we played really well and that we did what was asked of us.
"Now we're really confident we can win the play-off. We are very well organised as a team and really confident in our ability.
"We believe we can go through to the tournament."

"SMASHBY - i disagree. there is room for young and cole in the england team. given that cole is a right footed player. he should play right wing and let a naturally left footed player play the left wing. As for gabby i dont think he needs a 20+ goal season. apparently neither rooney or defoe need to score that many goals to earn an england starting place"

"I really hope Gab can make the England grade - he'll need a 20+ goal season to convince Fabio and the English public I reckon. Young should definitely be in the England squad, although Joe Cole is on great form for England, so Ash might have to sit on the bench for the time being. I'm a big fan of Reo Coker, and I really hope he can 'do a Barry' and force himself into the England reckoning ahead of some of the established stars. I'd like to see Cappello giving the younger players a chance now; I think it's the right time to phase out the likes of Beckham, Lampard, James etc. and mould a new team for the future. This crop of players have had their chance to deliver in the big tournaments and sadly it was not to be, so let's move on. "
