Birmingham centre-back Liam Ridgewell will be ruled out of the next two games against Manchester City and Wigan through suspension.
The former Aston Villa player collected his 10th booking of the current campaign during Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Reading.
It means Martin Taylor could come back into the starting line-up for the first time since his red card against Arsenal after the incident in which Eduardo suffered a broken leg.
Taylor made his comeback in the reserves against Tottenham last week when he completed the full 90 minutes but he was not considered for the game against the Royals.
