Carsley linked with Blues switch

Everton's defensive midfielder Lee Carsley is reportedly set to quit Goodison Park and make a shock move to relegated Birmingham.

Carsley: Could quit Goodison Park

Carsley, 34, joined Everton from Coventry City in 2002 and has proved a popular figure with the Toffees' faithful.

But Carsley is out of contract this summer and Everton boss David Moyes has only offered him a one-year deal, while he would reportedly get a two-year contract at St Andrews.

Carlsey, who was born in Birmingham, would be a useful addition to the Blues as manager Alex McLeish bids to put together a side capable of winning promotion from the Championship next season after City's relegation from the Premier League.

Most of his work goes unoticed, but anyones who knows footbal, knows what a player he is! Good luck to him if he moves on, just hope Moyes has got the 10-15 we will need to replace him! Marcos Senna anyone?"
