Lee Carsley has no doubts Birmingham will start the new Championship season as favourites to bounce back to the Premier League.
The former Everton midfielder, who swapped Goodison Park for St Andrews in May, has targeted an immediate return to the top flight with the Blues.
Carsley told the club's official website: "We'll look to be getting promoted next season, that's everybody's goal.
"If everybody is pulling in the right way there's no reason why we can't achieve it.
"I'm not looking to wind down my career, I'm looking to play in the Premier League and I want to do it with Birmingham.
"I've come here to win a championship and stabilise the club in the Premier League."
