Birmingham midfielder Kemy Agustien is hoping to make his competitive debut for Blues in Saturday's home game against Barnsley.
The 22-year-old Dutchman has been struggling with a hernia problem since joining on a season-long loan from AZ Alkmaar, but completed 45 minutes in Blues reserves' 2-1 victory over Crewe.
He is now hoping for a first-team call-up, and his chances have been boosted by the absence of Mehdi Nafti, who is set to be out for around two to three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Agustien told the Birmingham Mail: "If I can make some minutes on Saturday that would be nice, but you also have to be honest.
"It (the game against Crewe) was my first game in the reserve team, and you never know how this level compares to the Championship.
"I think I can fit in though. You have to be self-confident, and I have that."
