Larsson talks up Blues chances

Birmingham midfielder Sebastian Larsson believes the Blues have a better squad than last time they were promoted from the Championship in 2007.

Alex McLeish's side moved to the top of the Championship at the weekend after beating QPR 1-0 at St Andrews.

Swedish international Larsson claims Blues have never been better equipped to stay at the top and return to the Premier League.

He told the club's official site: "I think we've definitely got a better squad than we had two years ago.

"I'm not saying it's going to be easy and it will be a long hard season, but the team is good enough to go up."

He added: "I think we have a stronger side now than we had a couple of years ago and we managed it then."

"Man U to bid 18million for Palacios. He was a no brainer and Mcleish let him go.A once in a lifetime opportunity.Still with his Scottish connections Quasie is a certainty so we can`t complain can we??Do we think Man U are likely to bid 18 million for any of our existing squad.I don`t think so.I know I must let go but I did post on here when we let Palacios go that Mcleish had made a big big mistake, maybe the biggest he will make in his career.Lets face it is he ever likely to buy or sell a player of this value if he stays at Blues.I think not."
