Mark Hughes has issued a rallying call to his players and insisted the race for Europe is "never over until the last ball is kicked".
The Rovers boss watched as his side turned over relegation-threatened Wigan 3-1 at Ewood Park on Saturday despite having defender Christopher Samba sent off in the 17th minute.
And now Hughes believes his side's timely purple patch, combined with their fellow European competitors' current blip in form, stands Rovers in good stead for a top-six finish.
"We are very much in it - it's never over until the last ball is kicked," Hughes told the club's official website.
"We are going to have a go and we know there are games we can win. Against Wigan we put in a performance and got the points and we've got to build on it now."
