Stephen Warnock insists Blackburn remain a club "heading in the right direction" despite speculation surrounding a number of their star names.
And the full-back, who capped a fine season with Rovers by making his senior debut for England in June, insists everyone at Ewood Park won't be happy unless they improve on last season's seventh-place finish.
Warnock insists that the players are better than the showing last campaign, and that new boss Paul Ince is the man to move the team upwards in the league.
"We are a club that is moving forward and we are all looking forward to the new era under the new manager," he told the club's official website.
"Last season, even though we finished seventh, it was still a bit of a disappointment to the lads as we feel that we can finish higher than that.
"So anything lower than seventh position again will be a disappointing season for us."
