New Bolton striker Ebi Smolarek has revealed the presence of fellow forward Johan Elmander at the Reebok was a key factor in securing his move.
The versatile 27-year-old, who is approaching 40 caps for Poland and was part of their Euro 2008 squad, joined Racing in 2007 having previously played for Feyenoord and Borussia Dortmund.
And it was Sweden international Elmander, who joined Bolton in June, which clinched the deal.
"I have seen Bolton play but the main thing for me was that Johan Elmander was here because I played with him at Feyenoord," said the 27-year-old.
