Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly leading the chase to sign 15-year-old striker Jack Sampson from Bolton.
The youngster - who stands at over 6ft - is one of the brightest prospects in English football and a host of clubs are battling to land him.
Bolton are obviously keen to keep their home-grown star, but it now seems Sampson is set to depart the Reebok Stadium.
Sampson is not due to leave school until next summer, but his future is set to be decided over the next few weeks.
City have been leading the chase for Sampson and have been monitoring him for more than a year, although they are not the only top-flight club keen to secure his services.
United have also entered the fray and are ready to offer Sampson the chance of a move to Old Trafford and are hopeful of beating their city rivals to the England youth international.
Tottenham and Newcastle are also attempting to land Sampson, who will soon decide on where he will begin his professional career.

Fulham are preparing a £10million bid for Peter Crouch, while Manchester United have been linked with a move for Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano.

"i think we should all leave the kid where he is, its better for a lad of 15 to stay in familiar surroundings. if bolton have done all the work in training him up to the level he is at now then why should any other bigger club reap the rewards????? fottball is losing its meaning!!!"

"where's the loyalty? why doesnt he cut his teeth in a side where he might get the opportunity to play...Then move on after a couple of seasons in the first team...like Wayne Rooney did!"

"I pray to god he doesn't go to Spurs. Any *hot* talent that they sign usually ends up ruining their careers. Stay at Bolton if you really want to develop. If you want the money, Man C it is. "

"Wow, never even heard about this guy, but if he is the next biggest thing then i hope we don't sell him. I know the prospects at Utd are better but why sit in their reserves team for the next 5-7 years when he could be playing first team football in the nest 3. Plus with this new possible 5+6 rule he would be worth a bzillion-million-trillion pounds in a few seasons. "
