Bolton Wanderers reserves boss Alan Cork was full of praise for his young side after they went down 2-1 to Manchester City.
A 75th-minute winner from Donal McDermott earned City, who fielded Dietmar Hamann, Felipe Caicedo and Jo in their starting line-up, the points after Trotters teenager Javlon Campbell had cancelled out Clayton McDonald's header.
Cork told the club's official website: "We had eight scholars in the squad so we've done okay. It was a very young side and they coped well with their multi-million pound gang. We should have got something out of the game."
