Bodde failed to report to south Wales for the start of pre-season on Monday prompting Sousa to question his professionalism.

But the club have reported through a statement on their official website that the 27-year-old "met with manager Paolo Sousa and chairman Huw Jenkins to apologise and explain that he was absent from training early this week in order to complete medical examinations and tie up his affairs in Holland."

The statement continued: "It has been agreed that he will go back to Holland to continue his rehabilitation and then return to Swansea to Swansea on July 12 in order to complete his rehabilitation and integrate progressively into training with the first-team squad."

Bodde, who has not played since November following a knee injury, was the subject of a bid from Premier League side Bolton last week.
