Tony Mowbray insists West Brom will keep trying to play their way out of the Championship after pocketing a point in the 1-1 draw at Charlton.
Kevin Phillips' 21st goal of the season cancelled out Greg Halford's first for Charlton to keep the FA Cup semi-finalists in the hunt for automatic promotion.
"This league is full of competitive football teams that go out of their way to stop other teams playing," said Mowbray.
"It is hard to win matches but I feel the right way of playing is to score goals and entertain the public.
"I'm quite jealous of Charlton's squad list - they have a wonderful squad of players so for us to come here and dominate from start to finish is very good."
Halford broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark, the on-loan Sunderland full-back rising highest to head Darren Ambrose's free-kick back past Dean Kiely and into the bottom corner.
But within 11 minutes Albion were level from a trademark Phillips strike.
Zoltan Gera nodded Jonathan Greening's cross back to the former England striker, who controlled the ball in an instant before dispatching it past Nicky Weaver via the underside of the crossbar.
The Baggies then had the better of the second half and came closest to snatching the victory when Zoltan Gera's 20-yard volley rattled the bar with two minutes to go.
"The way the game panned out I felt we deserved all three points," added Mowbray.
"I'm pleased with the way we performed but that's football - you don't always get what you deserve.
"Kevin has been scoring goals for a long time, he's up at the top of the scoring charts and he showed his quality again today."
A point lifted the Addicks back to eighth, although with their play-off rivals all in action on Saturday they may find themselves further off the pace by the time Alan Pardew tucks into his Easter eggs.
"We are looking for our strikers to score goals, because you need them in form if you want to get promoted, and unfortunately we just can't get a goal from that position," said Pardew.
"We were desperate for a win today, no-one more so than myself. I thought it was a good game, it ebbed and flowed and a draw was probably a fair result.
"We feel we can still make the play-offs. The percentage chance of us doing it has gone down, we need four or five wins now - but we are more than capable of doing that.
"We have Wolves next week and you can't help but think that will be a key game for our run-in. But the feeling in the camp is that we can still do it."

Brackley Addick (Charlton Athletic) : "...Oh well, the vultures are circling. This will be a real test of the clubs ambition to see who they keep and who they cash in on. Majid has to stay. Jabbiter, I take your point, we were only 6 points off a play off place. But if you watched us week i..." view full comment
