The Frenchman, who sustained the injury during Saturday's defeat at Watford, will undergo an operation to insert a plate into his foot meaning he is likely to be sidelined until November.

The news comes as a blow to manager Alan Pardew after Racon, who spent the end of the last campaign on loan at Brighton, started the Addicks' first two Championship games of the season.
