Duo back in action for Addicks

Charlton boss Alan Pardew has been boosted by the return of Darren Ambrose and Svetoslav Todorov in the reserves' clash with Crystal Palace.

Ambrose: Got 60 minutes under his belt

Midfielder Ambrose missed all of the Addicks' pre-season after undergoing a hip operation in April in a bid to cure a long-term groin problem.

Striker Todorov, who agreed a new one-year contract over the summer, missed the bulk of last season with cruciate ligament damage and has since been suffering with swelling around the same knee.

But both players got 60 minutes under their belts to put themselves in the frame for a return to the first team in the near future.

Summer signing Stuart Fleetwood was on target for an otherwise youthful Addicks line-up, with Palace running out 3-1 winners.
