Luke Varney has praised Charlton boss Alan Pardew for increasing his self-belief, and says he wants to be the club's "main man" this season.
The striker scored his first goal of the season in the 4-2 win over Reading and celebrated by jumping on his manager.
Varney told the club's official website: "The manager has really built me up this year, and I know everyone is looking for me to score the goals to get this club promoted."
"I feel in really good condition. I've never doubted myself, but Pards is a very good man-manager and he really makes you believe in yourself.
"I was delighted to score, and I want to be the main man this season."
