Dave Whelan has hit back at the conspiracy theorists who fear Wigan will allow Manchester United to win the Premier League title.
United go into the final day of the season requiring a win at the JJB Stadium to ensure they claim the title for a second successive season.
Chelsea are hoping for a slip-up from United so that they can snatch the silverware from under their noses and have challenged Wigan to go for a win against Sir Alex Ferguson's men.
It has been suggested Wigan could do United a favour because of manager Steve Bruce's connections with the Old Trafford outfit, but Whelan has rubbished the claims.
Speaking at the club's awards dinner, Whelan said: "All this rubbish in the press that we would be rolling over for Manchester United is complete and absolute rubbish."
Wigan's Player of the Season Paul Scharner echoed his chairman's sentiments, saying Latics will be keen to end the campaign on a winning note.
"I think the whole team can keep their focus on the game on the last day and it is much more fun to have a party after a win," Scharner told Sky Sports News.
"We should try everything to get a result.
"We have started to get results against the big four teams - drawn with Liverpool away, Chelsea away and home to Arsenal and it would be a very nice situation if we could get a win in the last game."
Latics striker Marcus Bent says all the players will be putting on a professional show against United and will be looking to grab the three points.
"There have been 10 to 20 people randomly coming up to me in the street asking me to take it easy and not try, and allow Man United to win the game," revealed Bent.
"But we are professionals and we are all going into the game on Sunday wanting to get three points."

"Why is it that no Manchester United player is talking trash in the papers about Ckelski's last game? Why dont they be professional and keep QUIET and concentrate on winning their own game? Bolton are not going to SB to lie down either and all this thrash talk in the papers are not going to help them as they might not win Bolton!"
