Milan play down Drogba swoop talk

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has poured cold water on reports linking the club with a move for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

Drogba: Milan reports denied
Drogba: Milan reports denied

Widespread reports on Saturday claimed Drogba could be on his way to the Rossoneri after agreeing a three-year deal at the San Siro.

Drogba's long-term future at Chelsea has been the subject of conjecture for some time with the Ivory Coast international thought to be unsettled in West London.

A number of top European clubs have been linked with the former Marseille hit-man, but Ancelotti insists the rumours linking Drogba with Milan are rubbish.

"Does Didier Drogba have a deal with Milan? It's all rubbish," insisted Ancelotti.

Ancelotti also revealed Milan are unlikely to sign Palermo ace Amauri even though he is big admirer of the striker.

Juventus are thought to be close to signing Amauri and Ancelotti says the Brazilian-born ace will not be making the move to Milan.

Ancelotti added: "I respect Amauri and have said so many times, but it will be difficult to see him arrive at Milan?

Barcelona star Ronaldino has been strongly mooted as Milan arrival in the summer, but Ancelotti says any deal will be difficult for the Brazilian.

"Ronaldinho? I have no news on that front. As with Amauri, he is well-respected, but it'll be difficult to sign him."

"I am very sorry that Drogba probably the most outstanding chelsea saviour is leaving. to say the truth drogba is no match. he can control the ball with his sticking and well created chest, he can run pass the defender anyhow, anywhere, any place. however, football clubs are like a tree leaf on which morning dew settles. the dew goes away anytime in the morning. One can join or leave the football club anytime, but the departure of Drogba will leave me and many chelsea die hards with a lot of undying tears flowing down innocent cheeks. i wish he stayed at the club.Drogba or Chelsea club, if you were to go round with a Questionnaire asking people if they would be happy seeing you leave the club, surely 0% of the population would answer "yes". One thing in common is that if you force a borne to fit the heathen cooking pot, it is the pot which breaks. so let us not force drogba, he has done alot for the club than anyone else (in my view)and let other clubs test his skills as well. but Drogba, your departure will leave a lot of people unhealingly bruised. didrick Chirwa from malawi-Central africa."

"Well I hope he does go, he's done nothing but moan since Mourinho left. After Chelsea stood by him when he was get criticized left, right and centre thats the thanks the club gets. Yes he can finish, but his ball control leaves alot to be desired, and at the end of the day there are better strikers out there. "
