The 29-year-old, who played a starring role in Albion's promotion to the Premier League, is out of contract at The Hawthorns and expected to bring an end to his four-year stay with the Baggies.

Everton were reported to be interested in Gera's services having seen midfielders Thomas Gravesen and Lee Carsley leave Goodison Park.

But Benfica have made a firm offer to the Hungarian, who claims he has 'several offers' to ponder over the coming week.

Gera said: "I am aware of Benfica's offer and I can only be glad.

"I have other offers and I will wait for the best deal. I do not close the door on anyone."

Bolton boss Gary Megson, who signed Gera from Ferencvaros for £1.5million when he was in charge at Albion, has long been linked with the right-sided winger, while Aston Villa and Middlesbrough are also known admirers.
