Birmingham have offered Maik Taylor a new deal after it emerged that Liverpool and Everton are chasing the veteran goalkeeper.
Taylor's current deal expires in June and he could leave the club on a free transfer.
A number of clubs, including the Merseyside rivals, are thought to be monitoring Taylor's situation and could move for him.
Taylor's agent Alex Black has confirmed talks are underway about a new deal for the Northern Ireland international.
"Talks have started with Birmingham regarding a potential new deal for Maik," Black told skysports.
"They have offered him a new deal and Maik is currently thinking it over before making a decision."
Birmingham will be keen to keep Taylor as they look to mount a bid to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

"Itandje just needs more time on the pitch to show what he is capable of...I dont believe he has been given fair treatment by Benitez....Just go back and check out what a keeper he was during his days at Lens...Rafa prefers Reina...never gives Itandje a chance....Idantje needs regular games to prove what he is....just check how Itandje was in FM 2006!"

"why? because he has a lot of experience to help along David Martin and 2 he's 100% better than Charles intanje who lets face it is a shocking player!!!! sensible choice for back up should anything happen to Pepe"

"Why?????? He's a good pro, but not someone i'd like to see, too old, we have enough young keepers, give them a chance, or sell them if they are not good enough and get another good young prospect."
