Tim Cahill has been named in the Australia squad to face Oman in an Asian Cup qualifier, despite the reservations of Everton boss David Moyes.
The 29-year-old midfielder has endured a heavy workload lately, having played in all but two of the Toffees' matches this season, and has been a regular for the Socceroos during their 2010 World Cup qualifiers and Asian Cup commitments.
Moyes has voiced concerns Cahill is in danger of suffering burn-out, but Australia manager Pim Verbeek has decided to name him in his 23-man squad for the Oman match on November 14.
Cahill's Everton team-mate Lucas Neill has also been called up along with Blackburn's Brett Emerton and Fulham's Mark Schwarzer.
There was no place in the squad, however, for Celtic striker Scott McDonald, who has failed to score for Australia in the 15 matches he has played for his country.
Australia and Oman both have four points in Group B of the Asian Cup qualifiers, one point ahead of Kuwait and Indonesia. The top two teams from the group will progress to the finals in Qatar.
Australia squad: Mark Schwarzer (Fulham), Brad Jones (Middlesbrough), Adam Federici (Reading); David Carney, Patrick Kisnorbo (Leeds United), Mark Milligan (Shanghai Shenua), Craig Moore (Brisbane Roar), Lucas Neill (Everton), Rhys Williams (Middlesbrough), Luke Wilkshire (Dinamo Moscow), Scott Chipperfield (Basel); Jason Culina (Gold Coast United), Brett Emerton (Blackburn Rovers), Brett Holman, Mile Jedinak (Antalyaspor), Harry Kewell (Galatasaray), Carl Valeri (Grosseto), Mark Bresciano (Palermo), Tim Cahill (Everton); Josh Kennedy (Nagoya Grampus) Bruce Djite (Genclerbirligi), Dario Vidosic (Nurnberg), Mile Sterjovski (Perth Glory).

"Because that's the main priority of a midfielder isn't it drtruman?
You muppet!!
You're as bad as "Garth Crook's team of the week"! All a defender has to do is score a goal to get on that.

"Thought he was injured! When he isn't scoring, he isn't really doing much is he?"
