Ghana defender John Pantsil is hoping his move across London from West Ham to Fulham will help kick-start his career in the Premier League.
Pantsil joined the Cottagers last week along with Hammers team-mate Bobby Zamora in a joint deal worth £6.3million, and the 27-year-old has immediately set his sights on first-team football.
"This is a new challenge now for me, to come here and prove that I deserve to be a Premiership regular," he told Kick Off Ghana's website.
"I am happy with the opportunity and determined go put in the time on the training grounds to get that."
Pantsil, who moved to Upton Park from Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2006 on the back of an impressive World Cup in Germany, made his debut for Fulham in a pre-season win over Celtic on Saturday.
He said: "I have felt welcome here since making the move and hope it will go well. I was just delighted to play and I hope it is a sign of good things to come."
After hardly featuring in the Premier League during his spell at West Ham, Pantsil has set his sights on establishing himself in the Fulham starting XI.
He added: "At my age and as a regular international, sitting on the bench does not appeal to me. It will be backward for my career given all the work I have put in. I hope with Fulham I will get the chance to prove that."
