Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra will evaluate Sven-Goran Eriksson's position at Eastlands at the end of the season.
Weekend reports claimed the City owner and chairman had lost confidence in Eriksson following the team's poor recent results.
It was also suggested that Shinawatra was lining up Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari as a possible replacement.
Shinawatra has insisted he has no immediate plans to fire the Swede, who was only appointed last summer.
However, he admits he will assess Eriksson's performance when City's Premier League campaign is over.
Asked by reporters in Dubai whether Eriksson's job was in jeopardy, the former Thai prime minister said: "There are no plans at the moment.
"We will have to evaluate at the end of the season."
Manchester City made a strong start to the season but have slipped back to eighth and face an uphill battle to qualify for Europe.

"paper talk, read what Thaskin actually said, review at the end of the season, the whole club not just Sven. Even Manure will do this even if they win the premiership and chumpions league. Give me strength!"

"seems to me like the Daily Mail, I should say garbage is just fabricating stories yet again! No source and no quotes. Another example of the excrement they put out at that garbage of a tabloid."

"Exactly who does Shinawatra think he is. Sven could walk into any team. Perhaps Shins wants the same reputation that Deadly Doug has had in the past at Villa (hire and fire). That's no way to get to the top. None of their better players would have been drawn to City if Sven had not been there. This Chairman should put his ego in his pocket and let things settle down or is the rush to get it done before he goes to jail himself?"
