Espanyol have insisted the club have not received any offers for versatile midfielder Pablo Zabaleta, who has been linked with Manchester City.
City and Valencia have both been rumourd to be interested in the Argentina international, who can play at right-back or right midfield.
It has been reported in Spain that Zabaleta is poised to leave the club after Espanyol recently met with the player's agents and agreed that they have until August 1 to find him a new side.
However, sporting director Paco Herrera has stated that Espanyol have yet to receive an approach for the 23-year-old's services.
Herrera said: "We have not received any formal offers for Pablo Zabaleta. I know the reports in the papers but they are not true".
It is claimed that Espanyol would allow Zabaleta to leave the club for a fee in the region of €8million (£6.3million).
