Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has laughed off reports of a possible bid for Gianluigi Buffon by mega-rich Manchester City.
City's new Abu Dhabi-based backers broke the British transfer record to sign Brazil playmaker Robinho from Real Madrid on Monday and it is likely more big names will follow when the transfer window re-opens in January, with Buffon one of the legion of names linked with the Eastlands club.
But Gigli insists no amount of money would prise Buffon away from the Stadio Olimpico.
"It's fantasy football," he told Sky Italia. "This summer there was another case of fantasy football, to be precise the story of David Trezeguet to Barcelona.
"That was fantasy football, and this is the same."
Buffon, who once again proved why he is rated as one of the world's best goalkeepers on Saturday as Italy beat Cyprus in World Cup qualifying, is reportedly a £56million target for City.
But Gigli insisted the 30-year-old remains a key figure at Juve.
He added: "Buffon's price doesn't interest me, what interests me is to have him with us as a man, as a sportsman and as a lynchpin at Juventus.
"And I am happy that he helped Italy beat Cyprus."

"I never cared about the United/City rivalry since I'm not from Manchester but this season, I can't wait for City to come crashing down. I'll be laughing so hard. And robinho a big name player? He'd rather become a traveling salesman than play for Real he says. He just chose the first team who offered enough money. He'll be the failure of the season."

"I think spot on "fantasy Football"...but City plays with real money though....I must admit with players becoming more and more disloyal to clubs....city could easily get their player without much of resistance....imagine Ronaldo/Torrres/Kaka/Villa/Ronaldinho is being offered 250K- 300K/week...Don't you think they will jump the ship especially players like Villa and Kaka is approaching their peak....So I never rule out fantasy football with the Sheiks around...i think Club should be happy we have a club owned by trillioners so that they can offer crazy money for players and hence good profit...imagine Juventus selling a 31 year goal keeper for 56million! I will take the money any day. 135million for Ronaldo, 90 million for Torres and 100 million for Kaka......wow."
