Robinho: Hopes for title tilt

City's new Abu Dhabi-based owners have stated they want to see the title coming to Eastlands in the future, but the club's record signing feels a title tilt is possible this season.

Robinho and his team-mates play host to the Merseyside outfit on Sunday and the Brazilian is looking for victory.

"This is a great time to start winning games against the bigger teams so we can prove we are here to win the title," he told The Sun.

"Do I think [winning on Sunday] is possible? Yes. Liverpool is one of the great games with their history and tradition.

"Every player loves these moments and I cannot wait.

"We are not so far from the leaders and the league has just started."

"ALLBLUES09 in response to ur pathetic reply no i am not "two" angry about robinho in fact we could have had robinho and sneider and 30 million for ronaldo and thats a classic example of how united develope players u see we are not a club that plays football manager and ties to buy all world class players we make world calss players as u can clearly see ronaldo cost us just over 12 million and is now valued at 135 million by manchester city thats the sign of a great club... a winning club and u say is the "red" in my name for the colour of my face?? why would i need to feel red-faced we are the champions of england and europe perhaps the "blues" in ur name represents the feeling when ur club cant even wualify for europe"

"Can we believe a lad that still sucks his thumb? What medication have Man City put him on - that's all I can assume is driving the absolute rubbish the poor child is spouting! What title is he talking about - can't be the Carling Cup as Brighton cleaned your clock in that competition."

"red_devil07 and redboy22, are you two angry that in order to afford Robinho your teams would either need to sell or seek a loan? are you called red b/c of the color of your faces?"
