Ronaldo future remains unclear

Cristiano Ronaldo again refused to comment on his Manchester United future as he returned to Portugal to set a date for ankle surgery.

The Red Devils star, still the subject of intense speculation linking him with Real Madrid, confirmed he needs an operation after Portugal's elimination from Euro 2008.

It was later announced a decision on the surgery would be delayed until after the player returned from holiday.

Portuguese newspaper A Bolo has now reported Ronaldo is back in his homeland after a break in Italy and has met with doctors from the national team and United to set a date in the next few days.

The 23-year-old, however, once again declined to make a definitive statement on his future.

"I can only say that (I) will spend the period of my recovery in my house in Sintra, but regarding my future I cannot say anything," Ronaldo said.

"What a fool boy?this really disgusting and zimmarman of all this Ammunation dump and kaboom story about Ronaldo. The guy is a swanky idiot, his gambling on his career. I think is good for his healthy for him to leave Manure. Man United get better players this fool can handle a sweet life. Snarls and cheers "

"The story then appears to be that there is no more to the story. A really worth while piece of journalisim teamtalk, well done. Another 2 months until the transfer window closes, another 2 months of useless paragraphs describing a journalist asking Ronaldo if he is going to Real and Ronaldo saying nothing definite. Boring."

"I'm beginning to think he's either been told by Fergie/Queiroz not to say anything OR by his agent. How can I shut his lips so tightly!?"
