Jason Steele will be in international action this month after being selected by England for the European Under-19s Championships.
The 18-year-old is part of an 18-man squad which will fight for glory in Ukraine.
England will face Switzerland, the hosts and Slovenia in the group stage, which gets underway on July 21.
Steele was heavily involved in the qualifying campaign, which saw his side beat Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovakia and Scotland to book their place in the finals.
He is yet to make his senior debut for Boro, but could find himself promoted in the pecking order this season with Ross Turnbull, who served as deputy to Brad Jones during the second half of the last campaign, now out of contract.
