Middlesbrough: Dropped out of top six

The Teessiders slipped out of the Championship play-off places as a result of Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Plymouth in Gordon Strachan's first game as manager.

However, experienced loan signing Bent, 31, is confident Boro can get back to winning ways as they prepare for Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace.

He said: "A lot of teams are going to come here, sit back and counter-attack because it's a massive club with a lot of quality players.

"I can see we have got good wingers, good midfielders and a strong back four, so there are lots of positives.

"Negatives will be raised, but it's a long season and a very hard season. A lot of people will try to jump on our backs, so we have got to stick together."
