Laws: Consistency is the key

Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws believes there is little to separate the sides at the top and bottom of the Championship.

The Owls required victory over Norwich on the final day to guarantee their safety and manager Laws reckons consistency is the only dividing factor.

Laws said: "It's been a struggle towards the end. We should have been clear (of relegation) a long time ago, but we'd drawn seven on the bounce and that's made it more and more difficult.

"It's certainly kept the season alive. At both ends of the table - it's been an incredible year in the Championship.

"It shows you that there's no divide between top and bottom. It's just about getting that consistency and for somebody to be promoted with 70-odd points shows the strength of the Championship.

"It's so even, it could be anybody's and the fact we've only just survived with 55 points tells you how tight this league is."
