The 25-year-old Netherlands Antilles international has joined on a month's loan and is eligible for Rovers' clash with Swansea at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Martis admitted he is pleased to have moved to the club after finding his first-team opportunities limited at The Hawthorns.

He told the club's website: "The manager (Tony Mowbray) called me first on Wednesday afternoon before speaking to me again on Thursday at the training ground. After speaking to him the decision to come here on loan was very easy.

"I've got a good spring, I am quick, and I can pass the ball. I feel that I have good composure and love to play football.

"I feel that I can play good balls into the strikers and I hope that I can create chances for them. There is a chance I will be thrown in at the deep end but it is the gaffers' choice, and if he needs me I am ready."
