Speroni is the top man - Warnock

Neil Warnock branded Julian Speroni the best goalkeeper in the country after the Argentinian ensured Crystal Palace earned a 1-1 draw at QPR.

Speroni pulled off stunning second-half saves from Alejandro Faurlin's drive and Akos Buzsaky's free-kick, and topped the lot with a world-class stop to keep out a late volley from Rangers substitute Rowan Vine.

"He's the best keeper in this division by a mile, and I don't see anyone better in the Premier League," said Eagles manager Warnock.

"It's good that nobody rates him. But he's not leaving this club while I'm manager - unless I take him somewhere with me."

Akos Buzsaky put Rangers ahead with his third penalty in five games after Danny Butterfield tripped the tricky Adel Taarabt.

Wayne Routledge and Jay Simpson should have gone on to put the hosts out of sight, but they fluffed their lines in front of goal.

And they were made to pay after the break when Darren Ambrose, Warnock's bargain free summer transfer from Charlton, tucked away his ninth goal of the season from the spot after Fitz Hall had pulled Freddie Sears down.

Palace could also have won it but Neil Danns volleyed over and Radek Cerny saved well from Alan Lee's header.

"I felt at half-time we could go on and win the game, we came back into it and had some great chances, so I'm disappointed in a way," added Warnock.

"But it was a good game. And they were both certain penalties.

"My players gave me everything, and if they hadn't we'd have been turned over."

Rangers, who had no less than five ex-Palace players in their starting line-up, still moved up four places to sixth courtesy of their hefty goals-for column.

But boss Jim Magilton admitted his side, who had hit 13 goals in their previous four games, should have taken all three points.

"We were at home so it is two points dropped," said Magilton.

"You look at the amount of chances we created, and we've had a string of games when we converted those chances, so we could have been out of sight by half-time.

"Sometimes you rue missed chances and tonight was one of those games. And then the keeper has kept them in it."

He added: "I didn't see much argument from them about our penalty - but then I didn't see much argument from us about theirs, although it was maybe soft."

"QPRLAD

I think Speroni is right up there, but I agree that Lee Camp is class. Last week he was the reason we didn't beat Forest, and one save he made was out of this world. I always wonder why you guys sold him on?!"

"qpr lad 4th best lol you don,t know half how good he is lad yeah 4th best suits us were keep him then lol"

Freedman87thmin (Crystal Palace fan)

"Maybe a tad of hyperbole there Neil... Still, he's been a quality keeper for the last 3 seasons now, and if he continues to fly under the radar, that's good for us.

We're picking up some useful points away from home, if only we could start winning the home games... we might not have a permanent residence in 13th place then"

"I think he is the 4th best keeper in the championship behing Lee Camp [forest] Andy Lonergon [preston] Dorus De Vries [swansea] and i think Tom Heaton of QPR is 5th. Any1 thhink differently?"
