Dyer prepares for 'worst derby'

Swansea winger Nathan Dyer claims the "hatred" between the fans makes the derby with Cardiff the most fiercely fought he has ever encountered.

Despite only being 21 years old, the pacy attacker is no stranger to a big local contest having experienced a taste of the Steel City derby while on loan at Sheffield United, and the south coast match up between Southampton and Portsmouth.

Following a good start to the season, Cardiff lie third in the Championship table, but Dyer is desperate to peg them back on Sunday.

He told the South Wales Evening Post: "This is the worst derby I've been involved in - the hatred between the teams is massive.

"When the bus pulled into Cardiff it was a real eye opener. I've been in the Sheffield derby and the Southampton-Portsmouth game too, but that was on a different scale.

"On the pitch you can see the hatred of Swansea in the fans' eyes. It'll be great to shut the Cardiff fans up though, and win the game."
