Richards returns to Seagulls

Ipswich Town's out-of-favour defender Matt Richards has re-joined League One outfit Brighton & Hove Albion on loan until January.

Richards enjoyed a long spell at the Withdean Stadium last season during which he made 33 appearances for the League One side.

Despite returning to Portman Road for the latter stages of the 2007/08 season, Seagulls manager Micky Adams was keen to bring the 23-year-old, who has a year left on his contract at Portman Road, back to the club for the new season.

Adams told the Argus: "My coaching staff spoke highly of Matt when he was here last season.

"I will have a good look at him. We've not got a left-back, we've struggled in that respect.

"Matt knows the football club, knows what it's all about and I think he will be a decent signing."
