Owls boss 'infuriated' by Lunt

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has slammed midfielder Kenny Lunt after he turned down a loan move on transfer deadline day.

An offer was received from an unnamed club which was rejected by Lunt even though he has not featured in the Owls' first-team plans so far this season and the club were willing to let him go.

"Players make me laugh when they say they just want to play games and when they do get an opportunity to play games, they don't want to go. It really does infuriate me at times," Laws told the Sheffield Star.

The Owls also resisted Coventry's efforts to lure Richard Wood to the Ricoh Arena.

"We have made it very clear that if the likes of Coventry are trying to tap-up our players, there's no way we are going to allow it," Laws added.

Meanwhile, Geoff Sheard is adamant his takeover of the club is on track and that funding is not an issue.
