Darren Moore insists he left Derby with his head held high after quitting the club to join Championship rivals Barnsley.
The popular centre-back, 34, opted for a fresh start with the Tykes ahead of other Championship sides, as well as former club Bradford, and signed a two-year deal.
He said: "There was a great temptation to stay at Derby County but part of me felt that it was time to go.
"We achieved a lot there and playing in the Premier League was excellent last season even though the way it went.
"I have come to Barnsley now and I am really looking forward to the challenge."
